Brent Crude Trading Higher At $71.72/Bbl

Crude oil prices climbed Rs4 to Rs6,162 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

On MCX, crude oil for February delivery traded higher Rs4 or 0.06 per cent at Rs6,162 per barrel in 569 lots. Analysts said the raising of bets by partici-pants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading 1.03 per cent higher at $71.72 per barrel while Brent crude was trading 0.88 per cent higher at $74.64 per barrel in New York.
