Brent Crude trading at $78.25/bbl

Crude oil prices on Tuesday increased Rs29 to Rs6,037 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for January delivery traded higher by Rs29, or 0.48 per cent, at Rs6,037 per barrel in 16,377 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down by 0.21 per cent to $72.53 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.13 per cent higher at $78.25 per barrel in New York.
