Brent crude trading $84.08/bbl

Crude oil prices climbed Rs33 to Rs6,639 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand. On the MCX, crude oil for May delivery traded higher Rs33 or 0.5 per cent at Rs6,639 per barrel in 6,951 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was up 0.33 per cent to $79.52 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.24 per cent higher at $84.08 per barrel in New York.
