Zomato launches first resting point in Bengaluru with Tejasvi Surya

Zomato has launched its first resting point in South India, specifically at Vega City Mall in Bengaluru. The purpose of this resting point is to provide a comfortable and secure space for Zomato's delivery partners to rest and recharge in between their deliveries. The facility includes amenities such as comfortable seating, charging points for electronic devices, and free Wi-Fi. Additionally, there is a food and beverage vending machine available for their convenience.

The resting point was inaugurated by Tejasvi Surya, the Member of Parliament for Bengaluru South, who commended Zomato's initiative and highlighted the benefits it will bring to the delivery partners. He took to Twitter to express his support, stating that the resting point, equipped with essential amenities like first-aid, drinking water, and clean restrooms, will serve as a place for all delivery partners to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge.

Moreover, Zomato has made it clear that the resting points are not exclusive to their own delivery partners. They can also be utilized by delivery partners from other brands or companies, further extending the reach of this beneficial facility.

Zomato's CEO, Deepinder Goyal, had previously announced "The Shelter Project," which involves constructing public infrastructure, namely Rest Points, to support the well-being of delivery partners across various companies. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to enhancing the working conditions and overall welfare of their delivery partners.

The rest stops offer services such as high-speed internet access, first aid supplies, phone charging stations, clean washrooms, and drinking water. These amenities are not limited to Zomato's delivery partners alone; they are available for delivery agents from other firms as well, as previously disclosed by Zomato.

The resting point at Vega City Mall is open to all Zomato delivery partners in Bengaluru, operating from 10 am to 10 pm. Zomato has plans to establish more resting points in other cities across South India, demonstrating their commitment to the well-being of their delivery partners and their efforts to improve working conditions throughout the region.
