Tata Electronics Private Ltd. (TEPL) has announced that it has acquired a controlling 60% interest in Pegatron Technology India. The company stated in a Press Release that this acquisition solidifies TEPL’s role as a significant player in the manufacturing industry.

Alongside TEPL's majority stake acquisition in Pegatron Technology India, both companies will collaborate on merging their teams for seamless operation.

Tata Electronics' CEO and MD, Randhir Thakur, stated that acquiring the majority stake in Pegatron Technology India aligns with Tata Electronics' strategy to expand its manufacturing presence.

"We anticipate a new phase of AI, digital, and technology-driven manufacturing as we establish these new facilities and grow our operations in India," Thakur stated.

With the announcement of the 60% acquisition, Tata Electronics mentioned that Pegatron Technology India will be rebranded to align with its new ownership framework and business strategy, while it continues to provide top-quality electronics manufacturing services.

This acquisition comes after Tata Electronics took over Wistron’s operations in India (located in Narsapura, Karnataka) less than a year ago in March 2024, which further supports Tata Sons’ Chairman, N Chandrasekaran’s vision for substantial investments by the Tata Group in electronics manufacturing.
