Sensex up 630 Points, Nifty Above 23,350; BSE Midcap and Smallcap Soars by 1%

Indian benchmark indices are trading in green on March 21. As of 12:24 pm, Sensex is up by 641.88 points or 0.84% at 76,989.94, while Nifty is trading at 23,378.50, up by 187.85 points or 0.81% respectively.

All sectoral indices are trading in green except consumer durables. BSE Midcap and smallcap indices are up by 1% each. Manappuram Finance, Bajaj Finance, BSE Limited, Tejas Networks and HDFC Bank are the top gainers on the NSE.

Meanwhile, shares of Lloyds Metals were up by 2.66% at ₹1,290 as the company received environmental clearance for the upcoming 1.2 MTPA wire rod project and 4.0 MTPA pellet plant project in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Bajaj Finance appointed Rajeev Jain as its Vice Chairman. Bajaj Finance shares are trading up by 3.10% at ₹8,948.30. BSE Healthcare went up by 1%.

Asian markets ended mostly on a negative note. Shanghai Composite went down by 1%, while Nikkei fell by 0.20%.
