Sensex Falls 242.01 pts, Nifty Down 72.3 pts; Equity Markets Snaps Seven-Day Rally

The Indian benchmark indices fell in the early trade on Thursday, April 24. Sensex declined by 242.01 points to 79,874.48, while Nifty was trading at 24,256.65, down 72.3 points.

The equity markets extended gains for the seventh consecutive day on Wednesday, April 24 as BSE Sensex jumped by 520 points to end above 80,000 level for the first time in four months. The gains were majorly driven by strong performance in IT and auto shares.
