Sensex Down 118 Points, Nifty Slips at 24,400; TCS, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Infosys in Green

Indian benchmark indices are traversing in red as Sensex is 0.25% down at 80,755.86, while Nifty slipped by 0.25% at 24,399.70.
Among the gainers, TCS, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro are trading in green. Shares of Bajaj Auto, NTPC, JSW Steel, SBI Life Insurance, Power Grid Corp are going downhill on Nifty. All sectoral indices except IT and telecom are trading in red. Larsen & Toubro have acquired a 15% stake in E2E Networks following which the stock is down by 0.29% at ₹3,779. Meanwhile, Torrent Pharma acquired three anti-diabetes brands which includes Cospiaq (empagliflozin), Cospiaq Met (empagliflozin + metformin), and Xilingio (empagliflozin + linagliptin) from Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH (BI).
The Indian rupee is currently trading at 84.73 against the USD. The currency opened at 84.71 against the greenback, an appreciation by 4 paise. The Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee is set to meet on December 6. The central body is likely to announce a cut in the cash reserve ratio (CRR). However, it’s likely to keep the repo rate unchanged.
