Nifty Down at 24,400, Sensex Slips 1%; Cipla, Tata Motors, ONGC, Titan Company in Green

The Indian benchmark indices are swinging in red in today’s trading session. Nifty slipped by 0.95% at 24,433.00 while Sensex is trading at 80,913.97, down 1.02%.

Among the gainers, shares of Cipla, Tata Motors, ONGC, Titan Company and Bajaj Finance are trading in green, while Reliance Industries, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and Britannia are having a tough day. Selling activity is reported in sectors including bank, metal, oil and gas and telecom whereas realty, media and pharma witnessed buying.

Mankind Pharma launched a ₹3,000 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP) to partly finance its acquisition of Bharat Serums and Vaccines (BSV), which is valued at ₹13,630 crore. Meanwhile, shares of Varun Beverages shot up 2%, after the company acquired a 40% stake in LunarMech.
