Hyderabad: City-based premium D2C dairy brand, Sid's Farm announced an increase in the retail price of its A2 buffalo milk, skim milk and A2 double toned buffalo milk by Rs 2, per packet. The revised price of A2 buffalo milk is Rs 52, skim milk at Rs 32 and A2 double toned buffalo milk at Rs 42, per 500 ml packet. However, the cost of the A2 desi cow milk has not been revised and is available at Rs 75, for half liter.
Sid's Farm said that the premium dairy market has turned more competitive thereby increasing the price of raw milk. Several appreciations in the past few months led by rising input costs have reflected on every dairy brand revising their prices.
"Unfortunately, due to scarcity led rise in the prices of raw milk, we must increase the prices of our milk by Rs 2. We understand that this increase may be a burden on our customers, however, it is necessary to maintain quality standards and continue to meet the demands of the constantly evolving dairy market," Founder of Sid's Farm, Dr Kishore Indukuri said.
Citing a survey conducted by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Dr Indukuri said that it is proved that majority of the milk samples tested contain antibiotics.
"If a can of milk fails in one of the 45 parameters tested for, it is excluded from the batch to be delivered to the customers. Among the over 6,500 tests that are conducted every day, are the antibiotic test. This process is followed to maintain the quality of milk without a trace of antibiotic," the founder added.
