Shares of Siemens Limited soared by 5.3% to ₹5,391 in morning trade on March 26 as the company approved the demerger of the entity, paving the way for Siemens Energy India Ltd to operate as a separate entity.

As per the restructuring plan, the company shareholders will receive one share of Siemens Energy India for every share of Siemens Ltd held as on the record date, which is April 7, 2025. The demerger will remain in effect from March 25, while March 1, 2025, is marked as the appointed date.

Guilherme Vieira De Mendonca, former head of Siemens’ energy business will head the new entity as the managing director and CEO. Harish Shekar, previously the finance head of the energy division has been appointed as the executive director and CFO.

During the December quarter (Q3 FY25), the automation giant reported a net profit of ₹614.3 crore, against ₹505.4 crore in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue from operations slipped by 3% to ₹3,587.2 crore against ₹3,709.5 crore a year ago. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 11.5% to ₹401 crore, down from ₹453 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.

As of 10:00 am, Siemens AG shares were trading at ₹5,351, up by 4.55% from the previous day’s closing.
