After reporting its Q3 numbers, shares of Avenue Supermarts, the owner of retail chain DMart, surged by 15% to ₹4,152.75 apiece on the NSE in today’s trading session.

The company posted a revenue of ₹15,565.23 crore, up 17.49% YoY.

As of 31 December 2024, total stores in the company stood at 387, of which 10 new stores were added during the recent quarter.

Avenue Supermarts announced its quarterly numbers after the market hours on January 2. During yesterday’s trading session, shares of DMART ended at ₹3,615.30 on the NSE, up by 1.52% from Wednesday's trading session. However, shares have declined by 12% in the last 12 months when the Nifty index surged by nearly 12% in the corresponding period.

As of 11:00 am, DMart shares are trading at ₹4,112.45, up 13.88%

During the September quarter (Q2FY25), the retail chain reported a net profit of ₹659.44 crore as compared to ₹623.35 crore in the previous quarter, a year ago.

Avenue Supermarts CEO & Managing Director Neville Noronha said, “Overall, H1 FY 2025 like-for-like revenue growth was 7.4% for 2 years and older stores. The Q2 FY 2025 like-for-like revenue growth for the same cohort of stores was at 5.5%.”
