According to the BSE website’s trade holidays list, Indian stock markets will observe two holidays next week. The BSE and NSE will remain closed on Monday, 14th April, for Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and again on Friday, 18th April, for Good Friday.

Stock Market Holidays in April 2025

The BSE and NSE will not conduct trading activities on Monday and Friday next week due to the following holidays:

14th April 2025 - Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti

18th April 2025 - Good Friday

In total, there are three stock market holidays in April 2025, with the first one already having occurred on 10th April for Shri Mahavir Jayanti.

To verify market holiday details, users can visit the BSE website (bseindia.com) and click on the 'Trading Holidays' section.

Impact on Trading

Due to these holidays, trading will not be possible on Monday, 14th April, and Friday, 18th April. However, trading in the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment will be paused from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. The evening shifts will remain open, resuming at 5:00 PM on Monday.

Stock Market Trends

Despite a shorter week ahead, the Indian stock market saw a significant rally on Friday. The Nifty 50 index closed at 22,828, gaining 429 points, while the BSE Sensex surged 1,310 points to reach 75,157. This upswing came following a shift in US tariff policy, which boosted investor confidence. With the positive sentiment continuing, market watchers are eager to see if this momentum will carry into next week.

Upcoming Holidays in 2025

In addition to the April holidays, there are nine more trading holidays scheduled for the remainder of 2025. These include significant events such as Maharashtra Day, Independence Day, and Diwali.
