SEBI, along with the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM), has launched a new initiative: a free investor certification program.

SEBI issued a circular on June 11, introducing a voluntary certification program aimed at helping investors evaluate their understanding of markets and investing.

It's crafted to aid individuals in their quest for comprehensive understanding of investing in the Indian securities markets.

Details about the course, registration procedure, and helpline for queries can be accessed on https://investor.sebi.gov.in/ or https://www.nism.ac.in/sebi-investor-certification-examination/. This initiative seeks to equip investors with essential knowledge and skills to make well-informed investment choices.

The exam covers basic finance concepts, government schemes, securities market structure, roles of stock exchanges and regulators, investment risks, risk management strategies, ethical behaviour, and investor rights. Its goal is to empower investors to make informed decisions in financial markets.

The SICE exam is open to anyone interested in learning about the Indian Financial Markets, regardless of age or educational background.

It comprises 50 questions to be answered within 60 minutes, and the certificate remains valid for 2 years.

After completing the examination, candidates can expect to receive a digital copy of their certificate via email within 2-3 working days.

Those who do not pass can retake the exam after a six-month period. It's recommended to study the provided materials and re-enroll after this duration. Additionally, there is no negative marking in the exam.
