Reliance Industries, India's largest company by market capitalization, has confirmed it will release its earnings for the third quarter of FY25 on January 16, 2024.

In a regulatory filing on January 9, Reliance Industries stated that its Board of Directors would convene on the scheduled date to review and approve the standalone and consolidated unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2024. Following the meeting, a presentation on the company’s financial performance will be shared with analysts and the media.

Market Expectations

Brokerages have projected positive growth for Reliance in Q3 FY25, driven by gains in the oil-to-chemicals (OTC) segment and steady growth in its retail and telecom businesses.

ICICI Securities anticipates a 9.4% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise in OTC earnings, supported by an improvement in gross refining margins (GRMs). However, muted petrochemical spreads could offset some gains. Reliance Jio (RJio) is expected to deliver a 3.3% QoQ rise in EBITDA, while retail EBITDA could see a 3.6% QoQ growth. Upstream operations may remain subdued due to marginally lower production and a higher government share in profit petroleum. Consolidated EBITDA and profit after tax (PAT) are forecast to rise 8% and 10% QoQ, respectively.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services predicts Reliance’s consolidated EBITDA will grow 4% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹42,100 crore. The brokerage estimates standalone EBITDA at ₹14,600 crore (down 17% YoY), RJio’s EBITDA at ₹15,900 crore (up 20% YoY), and retail EBITDA at ₹6,100 crore (up 2% YoY). Standalone profit after tax is projected to decline 16% YoY to ₹8,300 crore.

Reliance Share Performance

Reliance's share price has faced headwinds in recent months, declining over 21% in the last six months and 3% over the past year. The stock reached a 52-week high of ₹1,608.80 in July 2024 but fell to a 52-week low of ₹1,201.50 in December 2024.

Brokerages like Bernstein and Jefferies remain optimistic about the stock, projecting up to 36% upside potential following its recent correction. On January 9, Reliance shares closed at ₹1,256.80 on the NSE, down 0.69%.
