The Indian stock indices opened on a negative note in early trade on Friday, with the Sensex down 146 points, trading at 81,196 and the Nifty down 75 points, trading at 24,716.

Likewise, the Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 index opened in red in the broader markets.

All sectoral indices are trading in red, excluding IT and FMCG. Metal realty, oil & gas sectors are down 2 percent each.

Asian markets were trading in the red. On Thursday, the American market also closed in the red

Infosys, ITC, Jubilant Food, MphasiS and Britannia were among the stocks that rallied on Monday.
