'India Startup Festival' from Oct 1 in Bengaluru

The festival will see participation of over 1,000 startups and 45 fund houses

Bengaluru: India's leading 2-day startup event 'India Startup Festival' is all set to kickstart on October 1 in Bengaluru with more than 1,000 startups, 45 venture capital funds and angel investors along with 60 senior executives of large companies participating in the event.

The event will also see participation of many HNIs (high networth individuals), students along with mentors of the startup industry.

With an aim to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship apart from giving the startup firms an opportunity to raise funds along with showcasing their innovations, the event will mark another major initiatives by the organisers to promote technology industry in India.

"Inspired by the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, and entrepreneurial mindset of Bharat Ratna Sir M Vishveshwarayya, the core aim of the festival is to empower every Indian to be part of the booming startup culture and work towards economic development of the nation. The choice of the venue is a symbolic move to synchronise with the spirit of the spirit of entrepreneurship and employment that Gandhiji stood for and emulated," JA Chowdary, founder, General Chair & Organiser, India Startup Festival-2022, told Bizz Buzz. Chowdary, who is an industry veteran in the technology world, also said that six unicorns and soon-to-be unicorns will be awarded for their exemplary employment generation and contribution to the country's economic development. Similarly, three startup founders will be rewarded for creating lucrative business environment.

"We are launching our networking app for startups to connect with investors, mentors and industry experts for better interaction. We hope that this event will help startups to showcase their innovations, while founders can decide to invest then and there by talking to founders after evaluating the business ideas," he added.

The event will also hold many theme-based discussions on making rural India an attractive place for investment and growth. The themes that will be discussed at the event will be women empowerment, rural health & nutrition, Bharat 2.0, Launch of 1 Rupee App, Launch of GossipCorner (for women entrepreneurship programme) and many more.

"The idea behind this event is not only help the startup ecosystem, but also to make them focus on solving critical problems of rural India. Because the next growth opportunities will come from Bharat," Chowdary said.
