HP partners with Electronics Bazaar to launch refurbished laptop programme in India

Mumbai, Nov 9 HP India Sales Pvt. Ltd. and Electronics Bazaar (GNG Electronics Pvt. Ltd.) are collaborating for the refurbishment of HP products (laptops, notebooks, workstations and desktops). Electronics Bazaar will be providing end-to-end activities from procurement to refurbishment to sell/ distribution of pre-owned HP products. Electronics Bazaar will refurbish the HP products at their Navi Mumbai facility that has been accredited as HP Certified Refurbishment Facility by the HP global team after detailed process audits.

Electronics Bazaar will evaluate if units need cosmetic recovery such as painting, denting, polishing, fabrication including repair for scratch & dent, vinyl wrapping, LCD polarizer repair to ensure the product meets HP’s customer experience and expectation as a HP Certified Product. The process will make use of necessary diagnostic tools to perform data wipe, burn-in test & battery life test. Electronics Bazaar will maintain all relevant repair documentations (including process flows, technical bulletins, service bulletins, troubleshooting guides, etc.) for HP.

Wodehouse Capital Advisors (WCA) has been retained as the Exclusive Financial Advisor for Electronics Bazaar. The Company is looking to raise INR 3,000 Mn (~USD 40 Mn) for its next phase of growth and expansion plans inclusive of spreading awareness through marketing across geographies, building a stronger distribution network & more. Amit Aggarwal, Associate Director at WCA leading the transaction said “Basis our market study we have gathered that the refurbished electronic devices creates significant value for both consumers and sellers. The retailers earn higher margins in refurbished products compared to a new product and the unique proposition of 1 year warranty frees their mindspace from any hassles if anything goes wrong as Electronics Bazaar has a strong replacement/repair network. On the other hand a consumer is getting a fully refurbished PC at 40% the cost of original. It is a win-win proposition for all parties involved while being environmentally conscious.”
