HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) posted a robust performance for the December quarter (Q3), with a 31% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to ₹642 crore. This marks an 11% sequential rise compared to the September quarter. Revenue from operations also surged 39% YoY to ₹934 crore.

HDFC Mutual Fund, the third-largest fund house in India, reported average quarterly assets under management (AUM) of ₹7.9 trillion in Q4, with a market share of 11.5%. In actively managed funds, the AUM share stood higher at 12.8%.

As of the end of the quarter, HDFC AMC managed 22.1 million active accounts, representing 12.6 million unique investors. These investors account for 24% of the total mutual fund investor base of 44.6 million in India.

The company's operating profit for the nine-month period ending December 31, 2024, reached ₹2,015 crore, a significant rise from ₹1,376 crore during the same period in the previous financial year. Profit after tax for the nine-month period was ₹1,822 crore, compared to ₹1,405 crore in the April-December 2023 period.

On the stock market, HDFC AMC shares rose 1.68% on Tuesday, closing at ₹3,899 on the NSE. The day’s trading range saw the stock move between ₹3,813.35 and ₹3,947.10. Over the past 52 weeks, the stock has ranged from a low of ₹3,255 to a high of ₹4,864.

With plans to diversify its equity portfolio in the coming quarters, HDFC AMC continues to consolidate its position as a key player in the Indian mutual fund industry.
