Market cap of nine top-valued firms surges by ₹2.29 lakh crore; LIC leads the gains
The market capitalisation of nine out of the top ten most valued companies surged by ₹2,29,589.86 crore last week, propelled by a rally in the benchmark indices. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerged as the biggest gainer.
Last week, the BSE Sensex increased by 685.68 points or 0.86%, while the NSE Nifty rose by 223.85 points or 0.93%.
LIC's market valuation saw a significant jump of ₹60,656.72 crore, reaching ₹6,23,202.02 crore, making it the top gainer among the leading companies.
Other top gainers included:
HDFC Bank: Added ₹39,513.97 crore, bringing its valuation to ₹13,73,932.11 crore.
Reliance Industries: Market value surged by ₹35,860.79 crore, totaling ₹17,48,991.54 crore.
Bharti Airtel: Soared by ₹32,657.06 crore, reaching ₹9,26,725.90 crore.
State Bank of India (SBI): Increased by ₹20,482 crore, totaling ₹7,48,775.62 crore.
ICICI Bank: Rallied by ₹15,858.02 crore, reaching ₹9,17,724.24 crore.
Hindustan Unilever: Increased by ₹11,947.67 crore, reaching ₹5,86,516.72 crore.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS): Climbed by ₹10,058.28 crore, totaling ₹15,46,207.79 crore.
ITC: Increased by ₹2,555.35 crore, bringing its valuation to ₹5,96,828.28 crore.
However, Infosys saw a decline in its market capitalisation by ₹18,477.5 crore, dropping to ₹7,71,674.33 crore.
Reliance Industries continues to be the most valued domestic firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, LIC, ITC, and Hindustan Unilever.
