New Delhi: Copper prices on Monday rose 0.37 per cent to Rs 714.15 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for delivery in November traded higher by Rs2.65 or 0.37 per cent at Rs714.15 per kg in a business turnover of 4,203 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium futures climbed 0.88 per cent to Rs205.20 per kilogram as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium contracts for November delivery increased by Rs1.80 or 0.88 per cent to Rs205.20 per kg in a business turnover of 2,802 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid a demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Coriander futures rise

Coriander prices rose Rs18 to Rs7,732 per quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings, tracking a firm trend in the spot market. On National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), coriander contracts for November delivery traded higher by Rs 18 or 0.23 per cent at Rs 7,732 per quintal with an open interest of 95 lots. A firm trend in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up coriander prices, market analysts said.

On MCX, zinc contracts for November delivery traded higher by 20 paise or 0.09 per cent at Rs227.35 per kg with a business turnover of 3,100 lots.
