Mumbai: The much-awaited cloverleaf intersection at the Dwarka Expressway is reportedly in the final stages of construction and is expected to be inaugurated soon by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister. The intersection, situated near the Kherki Daula toll plaza, will boast of ramps on all four sides and will serve as a crucial link between the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) or the Dwarka Expressway, the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), and National Highway-48.
With its completion, residents of the newly developed sectors in Gurgaon will have easier access to NH-8, without having to travel all the way to Kherki Daula toll plaza. They can use the SPR side of the Dwarka Expressway to take the cloverleaf ramp and head towards Manesar or loop around to reach Delhi.
Post the announcement, Vivek Singhal, CEO, Smartworld Developers, commented: “Dwarka Expressway is poised to be one of the finest infrastructure stories that India has witnessed. These developments will enhance accessibility to world-class facilities and amenities for the micro-markets of West Delhi and Dwarka. Further, looking at the growth potential in the next few years, this will be the most lucrative micro-market, both from investment and end-use perspectives.”
He further added that, “The completion of Dwarka Expressway is expected to significantly impact the real estate market in Gurgaon in terms of both demand and price escalation. Thanks to the government’s dedicated effort towards infrastructural development and connectivity, this micro market has transformed into a highly sought-after destination for both investors and end-users alike. The expressway’s inauguration will usher in seamless interstate connectivity between Delhi, Gurgaon, and Manesar regions, thereby triggering a positive response to construction projects in the area.”
The planned four-loop configuration of the upcoming cloverleaf intersection is anticipated to facilitate a smooth and uninterrupted movement of traffic. This development is set to offer a convenient and time-saving alternative for residents to access NH-8, as opposed to the present situation of having to navigate through the busy Kherki Daula toll. This remarkable feat of engineering is not only noteworthy for the daily commuters in Gurugram but also for the entire nation, given its impressive size, making it one of the largest road structures in India.
Ravish Kapoor, Managing Director, Elan Group, said, “The launch of the Cloverleaf intersection near Kherki Daula toll plaza marks a significant step towards enhancing the connectivity of the area. With its innovative four-way loops connecting NH-48, Southern Peripheral Road, and Dwarka Expressway, this intersection will not only reduce traffic congestion but also promote seamless and efficient travel, thereby unlocking new opportunities for growth and development in the key sectors of Dwarka Expressway and New Gurgaon especially sectors between 70 and 85.”
The proposed route is a crucial artery that connects several significant areas, including the Delhi airport, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, Southern Peripheral Road, among others. With the implementation of this upgrade, daily commuting for the residents is expected to become less cumbersome, resulting in a seamless and more comfortable experience.
Commenting on the same, Kunal Rishi, COO, Paras Buildtech, said, “The inauguration of the Dwarka Expressway will bring a significant transformation to the residential and commercial real estate markets in the region, with an expected 30–40 per cent rise in property prices. The inauguration is expected to transform the commercial real estate sector in the region by unlocking the potential of the swiftly growing locale.
