Brent crude trading at $88.30/bbl

Crude oil prices climbed Rs202 to Rs7,098 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand. On MCX, crude oil for October delivery traded higher by Rs202 or 2.93 per cent at Rs7,098 per barrel in 5,611 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was up by 2.83 per cent at $85.26 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 2.69 per cent higher at $88.30 per barrel in New York.
