Brent crude trading at $83.61/bbl

Crude oil prices on Thursday rose Rs59 to Rs6,532 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was up by 0.99 per cent at $79.56 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.83 per cent higher at $83.61 per barrel in New York. On MCX, crude oil for August delivery traded higher by Rs59 or 0.91 per cent at Rs6,532 per barrel in 9,895 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
