Hyderabad Amara Raja Batteries Limited, India's leading Industrial and Automotive Battery major, has announced the results for the quarter ended September 30, 2021- Q2FY22.

The revenue for the quarter under study was Rs 2,264.19 crore compared to Rs 1,935.82 crore during the same quarter previous financial year, that is a growth of 17 per cent. The Earnings per Share (EPS) for Q2 was Rs 8.44.

During the quarter, the automotive revenues grew on the back of good demand from aftermarket across all product segments. Particularly the UPS business registered higher volume growth..

"The demand signals are positive across all product segments but the increased input material costs are driving the margins negatively. We will continue to focus on cost optimisation and work towards improving the operating margins. We are working on our new energy strategy to participate in the emerging opportunities in the new chemistries and have started our Lithium battery pack supplies for three wheeler application," Jayadev Galla, Chairman, Managing Director & CEO of the company said.
