Near 60 per cent of women at Vested Finance investing in the US are recurring depositors, a study reveals.

According to Deloitte, the shifting landscape of the wealth management sector has moved industry participants to refocus business strategies. Simultaneously, women have emerged as interested, committed, and knowledgeable investors. In India, Budget 2023 has led to an active conversation around LRS and investors’ appetite to invest in US markets. To understand the growing contribution of women in their own wealth management, we’ve come across some interesting insights from Vested Finance on Indian women investing in the US markets.

Around 60 per cent women investors at Vested Finance are recurring depositors. Out of 10 US stocks and ETFs invested by women in India, nine are tech companies and one is a semiconductor ETF.

Around 15 per cent women investors invest in Vests (curated portfolios that comprise stocks and/or ETFs). More than 60 per cent of women investors are from millennial generation (1981-1995) and 20 per cent of women investors are from Generation X (1965-1980). Vested’s female investors grew by 108 per cent over the last one year and are 15 per cent of all active accounts.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Viram Shah, Co-Founder and CEO, Vested Finance, says, “We continue to see consistent interest from women investors on our platform. 60 per cent of them once they start investing continue being recurring depositors. Women investors are leaning more toward the tech giants showcasing interest in investing in companies that are part of their daily lives.”

However, there is still ample scope for women investors to increase participation in the US stock market. We are confident that more knowledge-driven exercises promote the importance of geographical diversification, he said.

According to Shah, “We also send weekly newsletters to keep our investor base updated about the current trends. At Vested, our goal is to make global diversification easy. With access to over 5,000 US stocks and ETFs, our customers can take advantage of a variety of global investing opportunities.” Vested Finance has launched products like AlphaScreener that help investors analyze and make data-informed decisions about the US stock market.
