Commodity Watch: Zinc Futures Rise On Increased Participation

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Tuesday grew Rs 2.45 to Rs 278.60 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs 2.45 or 0.89 per cent at Rs 278.60 per kg with a business turnover of 1,805 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures on Tuesday rose 0.55 per cent to Rs 910.90 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery grew Rs 4.95 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 910.90 per kg in a business turnover of 7,516 lots.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Tuesday rose 25 paise to Rs 255.70 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April increased 25 paise or 0.1 per cent to Rs 255.70 per kg in 2,515 lots.
