Commodity Watch: Zinc Futures Rise On High Demand

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Wednesday rose by 15 paise to Rs276.80 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher by 15 paise or 0.06 per cent at Rs276.80 per kg with a business turnover of 2,937 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Copper futures gain on increased bets
Copper futures on Wednesday rose 0.17 per cent to Rs898.30 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew Rs1.55 or 0.17 per cent to Rs898.30 per kg in a business turnover of 814 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on weak trend
Aluminium prices on Wednesday slipped Rs1.15 to Rs244.10 per kilogram in the futures trade as market participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market.
