Commodity Watch: Unabated Buying In Copper Futures
New Delhi: Copper futures on Wednesday rose 0.27 per cent to Rs 823.80 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for February delivery climbed Rs2.20 or 0.27 per cent to Rs823.80 per kg in a business turnover of 1,486 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices slipped 25 paise to Rs239.70 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium for delivery in February fell 25 paise or 0.1 per cent to Rs239.70 per kg in 876 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
