Commodity Watch: Rising Spot Demand Propels Copper Futures Up
New Delhi: Copper futures on Friday rose 0.35 per cent to Rs823.05 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for December delivery climbed Rs2.85 or 0.35 per cent to Rs823.05 per kg in a business turnover of 6,747 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices slipped Rs2.40 to Rs243.70 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium for delivery in December fell Rs2.40 or 0.98 per cent to Rs243.70 per kg in 3,385 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
