New Delhi: Copper prices on Friday rose 1.18 per cent to Rs836.95 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper for delivery in April increased Rs9.75 or 1.18 per cent to Rs836.95 per kg in 5,325 lots.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices rose Rs1.40 to Rs235.30 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium for delivery in April increased Rs1.40 or 0.6 per cent to Rs235.30 per kg in 3,841 lots.

Zinc futures rise on high demand

Zinc prices rose Rs2.90 to Rs255.50 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On MCX, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs2.90 or 1.15 per cent at Rs255.50 per kg with a business turnover of 2,700 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
