Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on muted demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Tuesday fell by 0.45 per cent to Rs757.10 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery eased Rs3.40 or 0.45 per cent to Rs757.10 per kg in a business turnover of 4,589 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Tuesday marginally rose 0.02 per cent to Rs209.30 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for April delivery marginally increased 5 paise or 0.02 per cent to Rs209.30 per kg in a business turnover of 3,285 lots.
