Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on muted demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Wednesday fell by 0.35 per cent to Rs753.75 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery eased by Rs2.65 or 0.35 per cent to Rs753.75 per kg in a business turnover of 2,682 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Wednesday grew 0.05 per cent to Rs206 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for April delivery increased 10paise or 0.05 per cent to Rs206 per kg in a business turnover of 1,399 lots.
