Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Spot Demand

New Delhi: Copper prices on Wednesday rose 0.66 per cent to Rs861.80 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in May increased Rs5.65 or 0.66 per cent to Rs861.80 per kg in 6,151 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported copper prices in the futures market.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Wednesday rose Rs2.05 to Rs234.85 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May increased Rs2.05 or 0.88 per cent to Rs234.85 per kg in 3,958 lots.
Zinc futures rise on high participation
Zinc prices on Wednesday rose Rs2.70 to Rs251.05 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by Rs2.70 or 1.09 per cent at Rs251.05 per kg with a business turnover of 2,316 lots.
