Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

New Delhi: Copper prices on Monday rose 0.57 per cent to Rs 811.50 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May increased 0.57 per cent in 3,118 lots.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Monday rose 90 paise to Rs 233.60 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May increased 90 paise or 0.39 per cent to Rs 233.60 per kg in 1,185 lots.
Zinc futures rise on wide positions
Zinc prices on Monday grew 65 paise to Rs 254.70 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by 65 paise or 0.26 per cent at Rs 254.70 per kg with a business turnover of 423 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
