Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Friday rose 0.32 per cent to Rs871 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery climbed Rs2.80 or 0.32 per cent to Rs871 per kg in a business turnover of 4,521 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures soar on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Friday rose 45 paise to Rs263.35 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March increased 45 paise or 0.17 per cent to Rs263.35 per kg in 2614 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
