Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

Copper futures on Friday rose 0.48 per cent to Rs873.05 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery climbed Rs4.15 or 0.48 per cent to Rs873.05 per kg in a business turnover of 2,644 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Friday rose Rs1.45 to Rs255.45 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March increased Rs1.45 or 0.57 per cent to Rs255.45 per kg in 2,081 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
