Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Ease On Weak Trend

New Delhi: Copper futures on Friday depreciated by 0.56 per cent to Rs 896.55 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery eased by Rs 5.05 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 896.55 per kilogram in a business turnover of 8,290 lots. "Copper prices traded lower as unease over looming US tariffs weighed on sentiment. Also, a stronger dollar index shall add to the woes," Heena Naik, Research Analyst of Commodities at Angel One, said.
Zinc futures fall on trimmed positions
Zinc prices on Friday fell 0.92 per cent to Rs 270.20 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded lower by Rs 2.50 or 0.92 per cent to Rs 270.20 per kg in 2,473 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices on Friday decreased by Rs 1.95 to Rs 249.25 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April fell Rs 1.95 or 0.78 per cent to Rs 249.25 per kg in 3,469 lots.
