Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Decline On Weak Demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Monday fell 0.3 per cent to Rs 881 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery eased by Rs 2.65 or 0.3 per cent to Rs 881 per kg in a business turnover of 1,412 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Monday rose 25 paise to Rs 263.10 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April increased 25 paise or 0.1 per cent to Rs 263.10 per kg in 567 lots.
Zinc futures decline on negative cues
Zinc prices on Monday fell 0.26 per cent to Rs 273.40 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded 70 paise or 0.26 per cent lower at Rs 273.40 per kg in 194 lots.
