Commodity Watch: Aluminium Futures Rise On Fresh Bets
New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Thursday rose Rs1.25 to Rs242.95 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January increased Rs1.25 or 0.52 per cent to Rs242.95 per kg in 3,434 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Copper futures decline on weak trend
Copper futures on Thursday fell 0.14 per cent to Rs792.75 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for January delivery eased by Rs1.10 or 0.14 per cent to Rs792.75 per kg in a business turnover of 10,055 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
