Commodity Watch: Aluminium Futures Fall On Low Demand

New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Tuesday marginally declined 5 paise to Rs246.80 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May marginally fell 5 paise or 0.02 per cent to Rs246.80 per kg in 251 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher demand
Copper futures on Tuesday rose 0.98 per cent to Rs902.55 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew Rs8.80 or 0.98 per cent to Rs902.55 per kg in a business turnover of 739 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Zinc futures rise on increased participation
Zinc prices on Tuesday grew Rs1.40 to Rs272.05 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by Rs1.40 or 0.52 per cent at Rs272.05 per kg with a business turnover of 36 lots.
