New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Friday slipped by 50 paise to Rs258.25 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March fell 50 paise or 0.19 per cent to Rs258.25 per kg in 3,002 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.

Copper futures fall on trimmed positions

Copper futures on Friday fell 0.64 per cent to Rs858.95 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery eased by Rs5.50 or 0.64 per cent to Rs858.95 per kg in a business turnover of 5,626 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
