Who Is Tulsi Gabbard’s supportive cinematographer husband, Abraham Williams?
Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat, first met Abraham Williams in 2012 when he worked as her campaign photographer. Williams volunteered for Gabbard's campaign for a House of Representatives seat and took many of her well-known photographs during that period. A year and a half later, they began dating after Williams asked her out at a mutual friend's birthday party.
Fast forward to recent political developments, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to his transition team. If elected, they will help lead his future administration. This appointment marks a significant turn for Gabbard, who made history as the first Samoan-American and practicing Hindu in Congress. In 2020, she was a presidential contender for the Democrats but left the party in 2022, criticizing its leadership for "warmongering" and "wokeness." This year, she was considered for the role of vice-president alongside Trump.
Throughout Gabbard's political journey, her husband, Abraham Williams, has remained a steadfast supporter. The couple shares a deep connection, partly fueled by their mutual love of water sports. Williams proposed to Gabbard in a memorable fashion while they were surfing. The couple got married in a traditional Vedic ceremony on the eastern shore of Kahaluu, Hawaii, in 2015.
Williams' mother, Anya Anthony, managed Gabbard's district office in Honolulu before Williams and Gabbard began dating. Anthony is described as a dedicated worker with a heart for service.
Professionally, Williams is a talented cinematographer with experience in documentaries, feature films, and music videos. His work focuses on the human element of stories, and he has been involved in award-winning short films such as "Last Taxi Dance" and "Knight Watch."
The couple has faced fertility challenges, undergoing several rounds of IVF. Gabbard shared their painful journey in an interview with Meghan McCain, explaining the emotional toll it took on both of them. They eventually decided to stop the IVF process altogether.
After leaving the Democratic Party, Gabbard became an independent politician and later supported Donald Trump, criticizing the Democratic leadership and its members. Gabbard and Williams recently relocated to Texas, purchasing a home in Leander for $675,000.
