In a bid to solidify the United States' position as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Sriram Krishnan as Senior Policy Advisor for AI at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, expressing his confidence in Krishnan’s expertise and leadership.
"Sriram Krishnan will focus on maintaining American leadership in AI and shaping AI policy across the government," Trump said. "He will collaborate closely with David Sacks and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology."
Krishnan, 41, expressed his honour at the appointment through social media, stating, "I’m honoured to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI."
Who is Sriram Krishnan?
Krishnan brings extensive experience to the role. Previously a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, he has invested personally in prominent companies such as SpaceX, Figma, and Scale.ai. His career includes leadership positions at Meta, Twitter/X, and Microsoft, where he was a founding member of Windows Azure.
