"The Republican Party is going to abolish Daylight Saving Time. It is very inconvenient to follow this method. This will put a great burden on Americans," he wrote.
Senator Marco Rubio introduced a bill called 'New Standard Time' in 2021 to repeal DST. He is currently serving as Secretary of State in the Trump administration. He said that studies have shown DST has a significant economic impact. However, President Joe Biden did not support the bill he introduced at that time because it was not approved.
