Trump, who won the US presidential election, will take office in a few days. As part of this process, the actions he plans to take after assuming office are being revealed in advance. He recently announced that he will cancel Daylight Saving Time (DST). He posted this on the Truth Social platform.
"The Republican Party is going to abolish Daylight Saving Time. It is very inconvenient to follow this method. This will put a great burden on Americans," he wrote.
Senator Marco Rubio introduced a bill called 'New Standard Time' in 2021 to repeal DST. He is currently serving as Secretary of State in the Trump administration. He said that studies have shown DST has a significant economic impact. However, President Joe Biden did not support the bill he introduced at that time because it was not approved.
