Donald Trump signed executive orders and directives on Monday (January 20, 2025) attempting to personalize his new administration in all kinds of areas, from energy to pardons for criminals to immigration.
Trump also apologizes to around 1,500 protesters who stormed Donald Trump new US president on Jan. 6, 2021 in a blanket apology to those who attacked police during a failed attempt to block lawmakers from recognizing his 2020 election loss.
"We want them out tonight, honestly," Trump said. "We're expecting it."
Six of the defendants, he told us, would be sent home on shorter sentences.
Trump signed executive orders calling illegal immigration on the U.S.-Mexico border a national crisis, naming criminal cartels terrorist groups, and pursuing automatic citizenship for US-born children of illegal immigrants.
Trump also signed an order that would likely end the U.S. refugee resettlement programme for four months, but no one immediately provided the details of the orders.
Trump vetoed 78 executive orders from the previous administration at a sports arena rally.
"I will reverse almost 80 harmful, radical Donald trump executive orders from the previous administration," Trump announced.
Trump also announced he would sign a decree instructing all agencies to keep records on all "political persecutions" during the Biden administration.
The rescission applied to executive orders issued from the first day of the former president Joe Biden’s administration in 2021 through last week, ranging from COVID relief to access for Hispanics and Black Americans to the growth of clean energy.
Trump signed executive orders that temporarily halted government employment and expanded federal rules, and an executive order mandating that federal employees return immediately to full-time physical employment.
I’ll issue an immediate freeze on regulation to prevent Biden bureaucrats from keeping regulating," Trump added, and he’ll "adopt a temporary hiring freeze to ensure that we only hire competent people who are loyal to the American people".
