A tragic road accident in the United States has claimed the life of an Indian student, with two others sustaining serious injuries. The incident occurred late Friday night in Memphis, Tennessee, when a speeding truck collided with a car carrying three Indian nationals.

The deceased has been identified as Naga Sri Vandana Parimala, a 26-year-old postgraduate student at the University of Memphis. Originally from Tenali in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, Parimala had moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree. She succumbed to her injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Two other passengers, identified as Nikith and Pavan, also Indian students, suffered critical injuries in the accident. They are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

According to local authorities, the collision was caused by the truck's high speed, resulting in severe damage to the car. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Parimala could not be saved.

The news has left her family in Tenali devastated. Her parents, Ganesh and Ramadevi, are well-known in the area as businesspeople. The Consulate General of India in Houston has been informed about the accident and is coordinating with local authorities and the families of the victims to provide assistance.
