White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had an unfiltered reaction to President Donald Trump’s latest plan for Gaza, and the internet took notice.

During an Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, photographers captured Wiles making a wide-eyed expression as Trump outlined his vision for the region. Wiles, known for keeping Trump’s 2024 campaign on track alongside adviser Chris LaCivita, appeared caught off guard by the announcement.

Trump’s Bold Proposal

Trump first introduced the idea of the U.S. taking control of Gaza while signing an executive order in the Oval Office. He later expanded on the concept during his first bilateral press conference with Netanyahu, suggesting that Palestinians be permanently relocated.

“It would be my hope that we could do something really nice, really good, where they wouldn’t want to return. Why would they want to return? The place has been hell,” Trump said.

He proposed building high-quality housing in new locations to encourage Palestinians to leave Gaza permanently.

“You take certain areas and build really good quality housing, like a beautiful town, somewhere they can live and not die, because Gaza is a guarantee they’re going to end up dying,” he added. “It’s happened over and over again.”

Netanyahu Appears Taken Aback

During the press conference, Trump went further, stating, “The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.”

He explained that under his plan, the U.S. would take responsibility for clearing dangerous unexploded bombs, demolishing ruined buildings, and essentially starting over.

As a businessman, Trump framed Gaza’s coastal location and warm climate as an opportunity for redevelopment, suggesting that rebuilding could create jobs and turn the area into a desirable destination.

When asked whether military force would be involved, he responded, “If it’s necessary.”

While Trump’s remarks sparked international debate, it was Wiles’ stunned reaction that took social media by storm. The White House did not respond to a request for comment on why she reacted the way she did.
