Robot delivers food to vlogger in viral video from China, internet reacts
A video featuring an Australian travel vlogger receiving food from a robot in China has taken social media by storm.
Josie, a YouTuber and digital creator, shared her unique dining experience in an Instagram post captioned, "This is how you get your food delivered in China. Would you prefer this? Or do you want people?" The video showcases a waist-high robot delivering her order without any human interaction.
The footage begins with Josie waiting for her food after receiving a call about the robot's imminent arrival. The robot, equipped with headlights, glides down the hallway and stops at her door. Curious about the process, Josie closes her door to see if the robot will ring the bell. Instead, she gets another call notifying her that her food is outside. The robot then opens its head to reveal a compartment containing her meal, allowing Josie to retrieve her order seamlessly.
Josie expressed her amazement at the smooth process, noting that the robot automatically revealed the food compartment without her needing to press any buttons. In the video, she says, “I ordered food in China, and a robot is about to deliver it to me. It’s here! It’s ringing the door and calling me. The service robot says my order has arrived, please pick it up.”
The video has already garnered over three million views, sparking mixed reactions from social media users. Many are fascinated by the technological advancement, while others express concerns about the implications of automation on employment.
