Over 250 Passengers Flying From London To Mumbai Stranded In Turkey

A flight from London to Mumbai has taken an unexpected turn, leaving over 250 passengers, including Indians, stranded in Turkey’s Diyarbakir Airport (DIY) for over 40 hours. The flight, which was supposed to be a non-stop journey, was forced to make an emergency landing due to a technical fault.

According to reports, the flight experienced technical difficulties, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing. The passengers were initially told that the issue would be resolved within a few hours, but the delay has now stretched to over 40 hours.

In fact, the stranded passengers have been left without basic amenities, including food, water, and accommodation. Many have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment, with some even claiming that they have been left without access to basic medical care.

The airline has issued a statement apologizing for the delay and promising to provide assistance to the stranded passengers. However, many passengers have expressed dissatisfaction with the airline's response, calling it an “awful situation.”

Meanwhile, the Indian government stepped in to assist stranded passengers, with the Indian embassy in Turkey providing assistance and support.

The Indian Embassy in Turkey also issued an update. In its statement, the embassy said, “Update: The Embassy has been constantly pursuing the matter relating to the emergency landing of Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Mumbai at Diyarbakir Airport in Turkey.”

“Thanks to our efforts, all stranded 99 Indian passengers were issued temporary visas yesterday night. Hotel accommodation, meals & medical assistance provided by authorities. The airline is arranging a Flight No. VS1358, which is departing at 12:00 PM from DIY Diyarbakir Airport, embassy.”
